Episode 83: The Lavish Party in Washington Heights
The trio strolled through the serene streets of Washington
Heights, one of New York’s most prestigious residential areas. The
Mediterranean-style villas lining the road showcased vibrant gardens teeming
with almond blossoms, citrus trees, and flourishing money plants. Birds chirped
melodiously from towering pine trees, blending harmoniously with the cool,
flower-scented breeze. Alex, a frequent visitor to the area, appeared
nonchalant, while the two girls, Kelly and Sharon, were captivated by the
picturesque surroundings, snapping panoramic photos with awe.
“This place is truly worthy of being among New York’s
finest,” Kelly marveled as they reached the artificial lake.
The centerpiece of the lake was an opulent villa perched on
a small island, exuding the elegance of a European castle. Sharon’s eyes
sparkled as she exclaimed, “It’s breathtaking!”
Kelly chimed in, her voice tinged with wonder. “That villa?
It’s worth over $40 million! Can you believe a young student bought it? He’s
barely in his twenties!”
“Really? Someone that young owns this masterpiece?” Sharon
replied, her gaze fixed on the villa. “If I ever meet him, I’d hug and kiss
him!”

Alex, standing nearby, began coughing awkwardly. Sharon shot
him a disdainful glance. “What’s your problem? Didn’t you claim to live here?
Which villa is yours?”
Caught off guard, Alex hesitated. His eyes flickered briefly
toward the grand island villa. Sharon noticed and scoffed. “That one? As if you
could afford it in a thousand lifetimes! Let’s go, Kelly.”
Pulling Kelly’s hand, Sharon walked away, leaving Alex to
follow quietly, shaking his head in frustration.
The Party Begins
The trio arrived at a villa nestled in the southern corner
of Washington Heights. The garden bustled with life. Two large marquees adorned
the space, each housing long tables laden with exotic fruits, fine wines, and
an array of beverages. Around 30 young men and women, elegantly dressed,
mingled under the soft glow of decorative lights.
As Kelly and Sharon stepped into the garden, a wave of
greetings erupted. “Sharon! Kelly! You made it!”
“You look stunning, Kelly,” someone remarked, drawing
admiring glances from the crowd.
However, the lively atmosphere dimmed slightly as their eyes
landed on Alex. His modest attire starkly contrasted with the designer outfits
surrounding him. Whispered judgments spread quickly.
“Who’s this guy?” one man sneered. “Did he shop at a flea
market?”
Another added with a smirk, “No watch, no chain... what’s he
doing here?”
The comments intensified until one of the men openly
suggested, “You should leave. You don’t belong here.”
Before Alex could respond, Sharon interjected with a smug
smile. “He’s with us. Don’t underestimate him.”
Her words piqued everyone’s curiosity. “Is he rich?” they
wondered aloud.
Sharon seized the moment to exaggerate. “Alex recently
ordered an exclusive Ferrari worth over $20 million. It’s being custom-made in
Italy. He even paid extra to speed up delivery.”
Her coy smile betrayed her true intent—mockery. The crowd
burst into laughter, ridiculing Alex. “The artificial island villa? Seriously?”
one man jeered. “Why aren’t we partying there, then?”
Kelly stepped forward, her voice sharp. “Enough! What’s
wrong with you all?”
Her fierce tone silenced the laughter. “He’s my boyfriend,”
she declared.
The revelation stunned everyone, including Alex. Whispers of
disbelief rippled through the group. “Kelly, you’re joking, right?” one man
asked incredulously.
“She must be pretending to date him,” another speculated.
Kelly, unfazed, turned to Alex. Her gaze was soft yet
determined as she reached up and kissed him.
A Moment of Unexpected Emotion
The garden fell silent. Alex stood frozen, his mind a
whirlwind of emotions. Kelly’s lips were cool and tender, her breath tinged
with a sweet fragrance that seemed to linger. Her delicate features—curved
lashes, bright eyes, and soft cheeks—left him momentarily spellbound.
But as her small tongue brushed his lips, Alex jolted back
to reality, stepping away abruptly. Guilt washed over him as he thought of
Debbie. “What have I done?” he questioned silently, his heart heavy with
regret.
Kelly, however, seemed unaffected, her confident smile
masking her intentions. Around them, the stunned partygoers began murmuring,
their opinions shifting as they tried to comprehend the unexpected turn of
events.
In Episode 83, the contrast between Alex’s modest demeanor
and the extravagant world of Washington Heights is stark. The chapter not only
explores themes of judgment and pretense but also hints at deeper relationships
and hidden motives. Kelly’s bold declaration leaves readers questioning her
true feelings, while Alex grapples with his internal conflict.
This vivid episode, rich with visual details and emotional
tension, sets the stage for further intrigue, leaving readers eager for the
next chapter.
Episode 84: A Shocking Encounter
Kelly froze in disbelief as Alex pushed her away. Her heart
felt hollow, her first kiss shattered by rejection. She had dreamt of this
moment countless times, but never like this. To make it worse, everyone around
was stunned, their jaws slack with shock.
A man with a ponytail finally snapped out of his daze,
nudging the person next to him. “Did Kelly just kiss him?” he whispered,
disbelief etched on his face.
His friend could only nod dumbly.
The crowd, especially the men, was seething. They had long
admired Kelly, the woman they all considered unattainable. And now, she had
kissed Alex—the person they despised most. Their gazes burned with disgust as
Alex stared back at Kelly, resentment flickering in his eyes.
To them, Alex’s expression wasn’t guilt; it was arrogance.
They imagined him taunting them silently: Look at you pathetic fools. You’vetried so hard to win her over, but she kissed me, and I don’t even care.
“You’ve got some nerve!” one man shouted, stepping forward.

Another chimed in, “Yeah, you think you’re better than
Kelly? She kissed you because she likes you, and you just pushed her away?
What’s wrong with you?”
Several others began to move closer, ready to confront Alex,
but Kelly stepped in.
“What are you doing?” she demanded, her voice sharp.
“Kelly,” one of them stammered, “he can’t treat you like
this. Why are you defending him?”
“This is between Alex and me,” Kelly snapped, silencing
them. She turned back to Alex, understanding the guilt in his eyes. She
realized he must be thinking of his girlfriend, which only deepened her
admiration for him. He’s a good man, she thought, and worth pursuing.
Her defense left the crowd speechless. Some began
reevaluating Alex, wondering what made Kelly so determined to protect him.
Suddenly, loud applause erupted. A commanding voice boomed,
“Now, that’s my cousin.”
All eyes turned toward the villa. A tall, handsome man
emerged, bare-chested, wearing floral shorts. He had one arm wrapped around a
stunning woman’s waist.
It was Simon, Kelly’s cousin, and tonight’s birthday host.
The woman kissed Simon on the cheek and departed, leaving
the crowd to murmur.
“Simon, you’re incredible! Who was that?” one friend
shouted.
Ignoring them, Simon sauntered over to Kelly, his smirk
unmistakable. “Still as beautiful as ever, cousin,” he teased, his eyes briefly
betraying a flicker of something darker. Then his gaze landed on Alex.
“So,” Simon said, his smile widening, “this is the guy who’s
caught your attention?” He chuckled. “Wow, Kelly, your taste is... improving.”
His friends burst into laughter, one adding, “Just wait till
Henry gets here. He’s going to lose it when he sees this loser with Kelly.”
Kelly interjected calmly, “Henry won’t be coming. He’s in
the hospital.”
The revelation stunned the group. “What happened?” someone
asked.
“He was hit by a car,” Simon said, his tone casual. “The
driver was a young idiot. Henry’s been investigating and will make sure they
pay when he’s out of the hospital.”
Simon’s eyes shifted back to Alex, and his smile grew
colder. “You should tread carefully if you want to stick around Kelly. Henry
doesn’t forgive easily.”
Kelly had heard enough. “That’s enough, Simon,” she snapped,
pushing him away.
Just then, Simon’s phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen
and grinned. “My new girl’s here. You all keep having fun. I’m off to meet
her.”
The crowd erupted with curiosity. “Simon’s new girlfriend? Is she even hotter than the last one?”
Minutes later, Simon returned with a beautiful woman in a
light blue dress. Her long legs and radiant smile made her the center of
attention. But Alex’s heart sank—he recognized her.
It was Cathy.
His fists clenched instinctively as Cathy approached with
Simon, her arm intertwined with his. Oblivious to Alex, Cathy laughed and
greeted Simon’s friends, but when her eyes finally landed on Alex, her smile
faltered.
Simon noticed. “Darling, upset by the riffraff at the party?
Don’t worry, I didn’t invite him. He’s just here as my cousin’s… boyfriend.”
Cathy’s heart raced with anger and jealousy. She excused
herself and headed inside, her mind boiling with resentment. She had believed
Alex still loved her, that he would always wait for her. Yet here he was,
involved with someone else.
Simon, meanwhile, soaked in the admiration of his friends.
“Wait till you see my new girl,” he bragged, his grin widening. “She’s even
more gorgeous.”
As Cathy disappeared into the villa, Kelly turned to Alex,
concern flickering in her eyes. “Are you okay?”
Alex nodded, though his mind was far from calm.
The night was far from over, and tensions continued to
simmer.
