Episode 627: Getting the Evidence
In Episode 627 of our saga, the paternity rumors about
Emma's baby have dissipated, only to be replaced by a more insidious rumor:
Emma's alleged affair. This rumor, although not openly discussed, is a hot
topic behind closed doors, as people fear Erik's reaction. The identity of the
accuser is unknown, prompting both Kaleidoscope and Marjorie to launch their
own investigations. Marjorie, driven by a desire to expose Emma, hires a
private investigator, hoping to find evidence of the affair before Erik does.
She believes that proof of Emma's infidelity could persuade Erik to leave her.
Marjorie discovers that the new rumor originated from a
friend of a woman recently arrested for drug possession. This friend claimed to
have witnessed suspicious behavior between Emma and Richard during their time
on the set of "Weird Husband." Despite initial hesitation, the friend
reluctantly admits that she had indeed noticed something between Emma and
Richard. However, she is unwilling to provide more details, fearing
repercussions from Kaleidoscope.
Desperate for more information, Marjorie tries to coax the
friend into revealing more but is met with resistance. The friend questions
Marjorie's motives, asking if her hatred for Emma is driving her actions.
Marjorie, careful not to reveal her identity, abruptly ends the call.
Determined to get to the bottom of the rumors, Marjorie
contacts the woman’s friend, a former star who had been recently bailed out of
jail. This actress, who had previously sent Marjorie a pixelated photo of Emma
and Richard together, refuses to cooperate further, fearing for her safety.
Marjorie offers to buy the original photo, but the actress demands a steep
price of $1 million, needing the money to escape the scrutiny and set up a new
life abroad.
Marjorie, realizing the stakes, agrees to meet the actress
in person to discuss the transaction. Meanwhile, Emma and Erik are aware of
Marjorie’s scheming. Emma, having received a message indicating that Marjorie
has taken the bait, shows Erik evidence of Marjorie’s actions, including video
footage and photos of Marjorie buying burner phones used to contact the
actress. Emma and Erik suspect Marjorie's involvement but need concrete proof.
Emma questions Erik about why Marjorie didn't hire a private
investigator. Erik speculates that Marjorie wanted to keep control of the
situation and avoid involving others. Despite the turmoil, Erik admires Emma
for her determination to protect their family.
Episode 628: A Mystery Guest
The story continues in Episode 628 with Emma and Erik
contemplating their next move. Erik reflects on his parents' extreme actions,
driven by their desire to separate him from Emma. Emma, pregnant and concerned
for their future, questions why Erik's parents would jeopardize their
relationship with their grandchild.
Erik, shocked by his parents' behavior, admits that he's still investigating to confirm their involvement. Emma suggests that they take decisive action soon, but Erik urges for more time, needing to be absolutely sure before confronting his parents. Emma supports Erik but is eager to stop Marjorie's schemes.
Meanwhile, Marjorie, unaware of Emma and Erik's knowledge,
continues to plot against Emma. She fantasizes about Erik leaving Emma,
believing that a split would rid her of the strong-willed woman she despises.
Brian, Marjorie's husband, has been an unwitting accomplice, manipulated by
Marjorie's machinations.
Outside Marjorie and Brian's apartment, a mysterious woman
paces nervously. Security guards, noticing her presence, inquire about her
intentions. The woman, claiming to seek Marjorie, is dismissed. However, as
Marjorie and Brian drive past, the woman recognizes Brian, her former husband.
She is filled with anger, feeling betrayed by Brian's current complicity in
Marjorie’s schemes.
The security guards, skeptical but concerned, offer to help
the distressed woman. She redirects her request, claiming to seek Emma instead.
At Emma's building, the woman is brought to Emma’s apartment. Initially
reluctant, Emma recognizes her as the mother of one of Richard’s clients from a
party.
Emma invites the woman in, leading her to the terrace for a
private conversation. This unexpected visitor may hold the key to unraveling
Marjorie’s plans and providing the evidence needed to protect Emma and her
family from further harm.
