Episode 637: Ruffled Feathers
In Episode 637, titled "Ruffled Feathers," the
tensions between Bridget and Richard escalate dramatically. The episode begins
with a heated exchange between the two characters, culminating in Bridget
flipping Richard off. Enraged, Richard snatches a controller from her lap,
accidentally pulling her vintage gaming console off the TV stand. The console
shatters, leaving Bridget horrified and Richard unapologetic. Richard chastises
her for wasting time and resources and informs her that he will be arranging for
another actor to move in with her in two days. Bridget, visibly deflated by the
destruction of her cherished console, quietly protests that she's not used to
living with strangers.
Richard gives her an ultimatum: either break her contract by
paying him off or start accepting work. Despite her silence, he continues to
berate her for not taking the opportunities presented to her, highlighting how
many people would fight for the roles she's giving up. He storms out, leaving
Bridget fuming and reflecting on her career as a stunt double, a dangerous and
unrewarding job she seemingly prefers.
Early the next morning, Brian is on a mission to obtain a
DNA sample from Eric, as demanded by Marjorie. He arrives at Emma's place, but
it’s Eliza who answers the door, her face hidden behind a mask to conceal her
scars. When she and Brian make eye contact, complex emotions stir within her,
but Brian doesn’t recognize her. He asks for a sample of Eric's DNA, which
Eliza refuses to provide, even when Brian offers a bribe. She explains that DNA
test results can be faked and insists that Eric needs to accompany him to the
facility to ensure trustworthy results. Brian accuses her of being complicit
with Emma, but Eliza stands her ground.
Emma overhears the commotion and intervenes, instructing
Eliza to give Brian a toothbrush, supposedly Eric's. After Brian leaves, Emma
reveals that the toothbrush actually belongs to Eliza, not Eric. The deception
sets the stage for a potential confrontation when the DNA test results come
out.
Meanwhile, Brian returns home and reports to Marjorie, who
decides to film the entire DNA testing process to prove her claim that she is
Eric’s mother. They plan to film everything, believing this will validate their
case. Emma and Eric discuss Marjorie’s plan and, amused, speculate on how she
intends to manipulate the DNA test, knowing Eliza's trickery with the
toothbrush.
Episode 638: The Irritating Roommate
In Episode 638, titled "The Irritating Roommate,"
the focus shifts to the arrival of a new character. Two days after Richard’s
threat, a luxury van pulls up, and out steps Annie, a muscular young woman
accompanied by her assistant, Jane. Annie introduces herself as Bridget's new
roommate, much to Bridget's displeasure. Jane immediately antagonizes Bridget,
accusing her of being jealous and ungrateful for turning down a film role.
Annie tries to mitigate the tension, but her insincere smile only fuels Bridget’s
irritation.
Bridget, frustrated and feeling cornered, retreats to her game console, ignoring the newcomers. Her attempts to contact Richard are unsuccessful, as his phone is off. Her resentment toward Richard grows, especially when he arrives to pick up Annie for a dinner with the director, ignoring Bridget entirely.
Feeling isolated, Bridget reaches out to her mother, Eliza,
who invites her over. Bridget takes a taxi to Emma and Eric's apartment, where
Eliza warmly welcomes her. Despite feeling awkward entering someone else's
home, Bridget finds comfort in her mother's reassurances. Emma, a household
name and icon, greets Bridget with kindness, acknowledging her reputation for
speaking her mind and assuring her that she doesn’t need to worry about
offending her.
Bridget, despite her nerves, boldly asks Emma if she needs a
stunt double. Eliza scolds her for the forward question, but Emma appreciates
Bridget's straightforwardness. The episode concludes with Emma's curiosity
about Bridget's willingness to work for someone other than Richard, leaving the
audience eager to see how Bridget’s career and personal relationships will
evolve in the following episodes.
