The Return EP 836 Liam's feet dangled off the floor

Liam found himself suspended by the collar of his shirt as Howard menacingly confronted him. Accusing Liam of some unspecified action, Howard tightened his grip, making it difficult for the boy to speak. Liam denied any wrongdoing, but Howard persisted, launching a verbal assault on Liam's father, Bryce, labeling him a coward.

Doug, witnessing the scene, felt a surge of anger and pain with each insult. However, he discovered a stroke of luck – the plank pinning him down had been broken earlier. Seizing the opportunity, Doug mustered the strength to free himself and launched a surprise attack on Howard, providing a temporary advantage.

As the confrontation escalated, Howard and Doug faced off, and Sophia raced to Howard's aid. Doug shielded Liam protectively, warning their captors against harming the boy. The balance shifted, and the tension rose, with both sides aware that the next move could be crucial. Suddenly, the sound of police sirens intensified, causing panic among Howard and Sophia.

Realizing the police were closing in, Sophia urged Howard to call Vivian, but his phone lacked a signal. The wailing sirens heightened their anxiety, forcing Howard to make a choice between confronting Doug and escaping. Sophia, abandoning her allies, fled in a desperate attempt to avoid arrest.

The pursuit continued as Doug and Liam chased Howard through the backstage maze of the theater. Howard, reveling in the confusion, taunted them about the complexity of the theater's layout. Despite the uncertainty, Howard's arrogance shone through. However, just as he confidently spoke about winning the war, he tripped over a wire, triggering one of Liam's traps – a heavy plank crashed down, pinning Howard.

With Howard immobilized, Liam expressed his defiance and satisfaction, declaring that it was payback for threatening his family. Doug and Liam were victorious, but Doug's injuries caught up with him, and he collapsed, unconscious from the exertion and pain. Liam, alarmed, called out to Doug, his voice echoing through the hallways.

Meanwhile, Cheryl and Vivian surrounded Natalie, who was struggling to rise. The police sirens served as a stark reminder of their imminent capture. Cheryl, angered by the situation, blamed Natalie for benefiting from the chaos. Vivian, though momentarily thwarted, vowed that the ordeal wasn't over and threatened harm to Liam.

As tensions rose, Bryce entered the scene, confronting Vivian and demanding answers. Vivian, clinging to delusions of a past relationship with Bryce, tried to justify her actions. Bryce, unyielding, rejected her attempts at manipulation, emphasizing that their past was long gone and that real love wasn't based on threats.

Vivian, filled with anger and desperation, lashed out at Natalie, labeling her a gold digger. Bryce, protective of his wife, sternly warned Vivian never to speak about Natalie that way again. The arrival of backup, signaled by approaching footsteps, prompted Vivian and Cheryl to flee, with Bryce and Natalie giving chase.

The pursuit continued through the maze-like hallways and underground tunnels. Vivian's advantage in knowing the layout allowed her to evade capture momentarily. As the police closed in, the tension heightened, leaving the fates of Liam, Natalie, and Bryce hanging in the balance.
